Where do Single Reeds rehearse?

We rehearse at Powick Village Hall, Powick, Worcestershire. Occasionally we do have to make alternative provision so please check the Rehearsals page for details of where each rehearsal will take place.

 

When do Single Reeds rehearse?

We rehearse every 2-3 weeks during the school term. Exact dates can be found on the rehearsals page.

 

Do I need my own instrument?

Yes.

 

What standard do I need to be to join?

The minimum standard is Grade 4.

 

Is there a membership fee?

Yes. The current membership fee is £10 per term. If you are also a member of any other affiliated group such as 'Liquorice Sticks' or the 'Single Reeds Saxophone Choir' then the fee is £13 per term.

 

What type of music do you play?

We play an eclectic range of music from light entertainment through to Big Band and classic pop through to popular light classical pieces - a number of these are especially arranged for us.

 

Do you wear a uniform?

Yes. For public performances you will need to buy a powder blue polo shirt with the Single Reeds Logo. This is worn with a black skirt or trousers. A Single Reeds fleece is also required for when we play outdoors.
